The fashion industry often uses the LBTQ+ for monetary resons , without acknowledging where their influences came from and without mentioning the real issues the members of this community goes through on their daily life . Also, instead of using real representations from the community they utilise cisgender binary models mimicking traits from the LBTQ+ community simply for aesthetic reasons .
We get so much ravelled around capitalism that we lose sense of the self , expression, sympathy and empathy ..therefore I wanted to create a project inspired by "Jean Paul Gautier " theatrical influences and specifically around gender fluidity remaining authentic to its roots by utilising real representations and exploring themes around family ,strength and vulnerability.
